Swedish Fish AquaLife Nostalgic Retro Old Time Candy

I am confused about this photo of the Swedish Fish Aqualife. Is the purple “candy” in the middle the starfish or the puffer fish? What is the green fish thing? Is that the puffer fish? HELP! Really, I am just killing time ’til Matt’s post. Hope his computer hasn’t failed him!

    About

I purchased Swedish Fish Aqualife at Shoprite for $3.99. It came in a 1 pound resealable bag. These are made in Canada, buy distributed by Cadbury Adams USA LLC in Parsippany, NJ.

When opening the bag, you can see an array of colors. There are six different kinds of sea creatures in the bag. There is a yellow star, green whale, blue dolphin, orange seahorse, purple blowfish, and the red traditional Swedish fish.

    Taste & Thoughts

The main ingredient is sugar, which is a main reason why I eat these during class so I can stay awake. The orange critter has a hint or orange flavor, the purple critter has a hint of grape flavor, the original red flavor has a hint of cherry flavor. The green critter has a hint of lime flavor, the blue critter tastes like the original red flavor, but it is supposed to be blue raspberry flavor, and the yellow critter has a hint of lemon flavor.

The texture is soft and chewy. These kind of get stuck in your teeth. You have to keep chewing to be able to swallow. They are very sweet and delectable.

The Swedish Fish Aqualife is candy. I'm glad these don't have any fat in them. They do have a lot of carbohydrates, however. It is very easy to eat the whole bag, so make sure you take a serving size and move away from the candy. Even though they do not have any fat in them, they are mostly sugar, which can spike insulin levels in the body.

The kids I babysit love Swedish Fish Aqualife, and it gives us a fun, new way to recite colors and different sea critters. They get a tasty, fun treat, and I get to stay awake during hours of school & playing.

This is a candy I've eaten since I was in early childhood, and I will continue to purchase this product in the future. I think they need to change the blue raspberry formula to make it more potent.

    4 stars.

    Thanks for the read,

    Danielle
